Mere Brother Ki Dulhan Movie Review

Mere Brother Ki Dulhan Movie Review

Story:
As the title clearly suggests and as we can clearly understand from the promos, the film is about (Kush) Imran Khan who initially is looking for a perfect bride for his brother Luv (Ali Zafar), apparently falls in love with the girl he chooses for Ali.  Katina plays a carefree rockstar kind-of-a-girl named Dimple Dixit who also very predictably likes Kush.

Luv stays in London and wants to get married before Christmas. Since their choices have been similar since childhood Luv asks Kush to look for a Dulhan for him.

Analysis:
The film could have been made much better for entertainment value. Yes it does entertain but in parts. Humour added to it is not very novel but manages to get a smile on your faces. But a film with high expectations that it was fails to impress.

Performances:
Talking about the performances, no one really makes an impression. Katrina was way too better in her last release ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’ and just when we thought that she is evolving as an actress she gives us this. Imran Khan is pretty mediocre and very monotonous just like his other films. The only saving grace of the film is Ali Zafar’s performance. This talent is one thing to look out for in the future. The rest of the supporting cast is Okay.

Technicalities:
Debutante director Ali Abbas Zafar could not do much to save the film. Though he shows brilliance but in parts. The screenplay is also by him which can be commended but that too in parts. The locations and cinematography can be given a plus 1 as always in Yash Raj Films. Editing could have been sleeker. Sohail Sen’s music is good and soothing to the ears. The background score is good too. But the script is pretty mediocre and required a different angle.

Plus Points:
        Ali Zafar
        Music
        Cinematography

Minus Points:
        Script

Final Word:
        It’s a once watch
