Murder 2 Movie Review

Murder 2 Movie Review - Murder 2 Review - Murder 2 Rating, Hindi Movie Review: - Vishesh Film’s 2004 blockbuster ‘Murder’ was inspired from Hollywood film ‘Unfaithful’ based on an extra marital relation. Murder was directed by Anurag Basu, but its sequel ‘Murder 2’ is Mohit Suri’s creation and is totally dissimilar from the first one as far as the script and the story is concerned. Though ‘Murder 2’ is also inspired from a Korean film ‘Chaser’, Suri puts in his magical touch and some Indianized elements to make this one work with the audiences. The movie impresses but is definitely not for the faint hearted.

‘Murder 2’ is about a former cop Arjun Bhagawat (Emraan Hashmi) who is scared to commit to his lady love Priya (Jaqueline Fernandes) who he calls his ‘Aadat’ (Habit), coz he doesn’t has a direction in life and the only thing he is living for is earning money by hook or by crook. Arjun is adamant to bust a heinous crime in the city that has a serial Killar Dheeraj Pandey (Prakash Narayanan) brutally murder call girls.

Extra ordinary cinematography and screenplay forms the highlight of ‘Murder 2’. Mohit Suri should take bow with another laudable addition to his hits. Yes, the film is dark and unsubtly portrays quite a many sequences that might make you skip a beat. Prakash Narayanan plays a sex-addict who turns himself into a eunuch with immaculate ability to convince the audience of his pitiless ways. The actor is par excellence and you will love to hate him in the film.

Emraan Hashmi was his usual best, acts well and gets into the pulse of the character. His troubled past makes him relate to the poverty ridden call girls and he strives to get justice for them. Jaqueline Fernandes manages to play the seductress, looks quite captivating but has not been utilized to her full potential.

Bhatt’s are worthy at casting and this is quite evident with this film too. Distressed call girl Reshma played by Sulagna Panigrahi steals the show. Sudhanshu Pandey and Shweta Kwatra’s powerful cameos add to the marvelous performance that the director was able to extract.

Bhatt films are known for their path breaking music and this film is no different. Shagufta Rafique impresses with a tight screenplay but yes the film gets a little extra loud and disturbing in parts.

Overall it is a good experience for cinegoers who can bear the violence and are looking for quality cinema.
