Ayazuddin was driving a Suzuki GSX-R1000 sports bike, which skidded off the road and crashed. His cousin Azmal-ur-Rahman, who was riding pillion died while undergoing treatment, police said.
Ayazuddin was on his way to Gachibowli from the airport, when he lost control of the 1000 CC mobike and skidded. Commuters driving back to the city in cars witnessed the high-speed accident and called in the police. A police patrol vehicle of Rayadurg station reached the accident spot within minutes.
As ambulance services were not available immediately, policemen rushed both Ayazuddin and Azmal-ur-Rahman in their vehicle to the Apollo Hospital in Jubilee Hills.

Police officers who visited the site of the accident surmised that the sports bike veered off at the toll gate structures on the ORR. The road at the toll gates was cemented; the bitumen segment ended a hundred yards before the accident spot. Police said Ayazuddin must have lost control with the change in surface.
