Story:
Arun Prakash Mathur (Sachin) has lost his lady love Lily (Ranjeeta) to a deadly disease like cancer. He remains a bachelor for many years, opens a cancer hospital in her name and then enters Asha (Ranjeeta) who looks exactly like Lily. Asha is a novelist and is writing a story on Arun and predictably enough by the time she finishes her story, the two fall in love.
Analysis:
Sachin is the screenplay, story writer, lead actor and director of the film. He puts up a mediocre storyline of falling in love with the lookalike of your lost love that seemed to be the most obvious for a sequel. First of all coming out with a sequel after 33 years is way too long and that too with a mediocre storyline does not make much sense. While narrating the flashback a lot of scenes and songs from the original are repeated, so for those who haven’t seen the original, the story seems complete.
Performances:
There is no doubt that Sachin is a talented actor but comparing it with the prequel makes him a little week. Obviously age has taken a toll on both Sachin and Ranjeeta and their chemistry doesn’t seems as interesting as it was in the original film, though both do a decent job to carry the film on their shoulder. The rest of the supporting cast is mediocre too.
Technicalities:
Sachin’s direction is average and all the other technicalities are old and replete. You see the same old Rajshri touch like in other films with no novelty. Though Ravindra Jain’s music is soothing, it cannot hold the film throughout.
Plus Points:
Sachin
Ranjeeta

Minus Points:

Boring
No Novelty
Final Word:
Only watch if you loved the prequel
