Phir Movie Review

Story:
Talking about ‘Phhir’, the film is about the journey of a soul who does something wrong in one of its lifetime and to pay for it has to travel to another lifetime and take rebirth. The film starts with a shattered looking man Vikramaditya who kneels down to Swamiji to ask help for the wrong he has done. He is reborn as Dr. Kabir Malhotra (Rajneesh Duggal) whose wife Sia (Roshni Chopra) suddenly disappears one day and he goes through hell to find her. God gifted Disha (Adah Sharma) can see the future and helps Kabir find his wife. The entire story has a spiritual meaning to it that is unveiled after a thrilling journey.

Analylsis:

Well, the film has quite an unconventional storyline but at the same time it seems unbelievable and illogical. Vikramaditya kills himself and no one even finds out about his and wife’s death. For years the skeleton of his dead body lies in the estranged bungalow for years for his reincarnation Kabir to come and see and this makes no sense. It is not an edge of the seat thriller but yes does keep you glued. Shall relate to anyone who is interested in Life after death and spirituality!

Performances:

The performances in the film are not strong but are not bad either. Rajneesh Duggal overacts and mediocre. Adah Sharma looks captivating but seems expressionless sometimes. Roshni Chopra takes care well of the emotions but still needs to polish herself. The rest of the supporting cast is ok.

Technicalities:

The dialogues seem absolutely clichéd and predictable. Music by singer-composer Raghav Sachar is mediocre. He features in a special song but fails to make an impact. Cinematography is the saving grace of the film. Editing could have been a little crispier.

Plus Points:

- Cinematography
- unconventional storyline
- thrill

Minus points:

- cliched dialogues,
- mediocre music and a few unreasonable sequences

Final Word: Once watch
