Story:
Arjun (Jiiva) comes to Mumbai with a mission. That to get close to Ramana (Nandha), a suave don in Mumbai. He gets acquainted with him and also narrates his love tale with Anjali (Tapasee) to him.
It is revealed that Anjali's businessman father is killed in a shoot-out and Ramana is the reason behind it. Anjali now tells Arjun that she would marry him only he convinces Ramana to surrender to police. There is twist as events unfold. Check out the rest on big screen.
Performance:
Jiiva is brilliant as angry Arjun. As professional boxer, he plays his role with ease. His onscreen chemistry with Tapasee is cute. He is brilliant in romantic sequences and so in action scenes with nandha. Tapasee is cool and vibrant. She gets to do a meaty role and does it with aplomb. As usual as panipoori wallah in Mumbai, Santhanam tickles the funny bone with his one-liners. The scene-stealer is Nandha. He does it well. A romantic youth I earlier films, he gets to play a baddie on screen.
Analysis:
The movie is half romance and half action. With Jiiva's screen presence, it lives up to expectations. However there seems to be something missing on the whole. The script and narration lacks adequate pace. It is a cross between romance and action. Kannan had woven a god story but missed to replicate charm of Jeyamkondan at many places.
Technicalities:
It is a technically a rich film. All is well in it. The camera capturing lushly locations by P G Muthiah for songs and pay stunt sequences are the hallmark. Thaman's songs especially Kanchana Mala... and Anjana Anjana are foot-tapping.
Verdict- 2.5/5
